LAURA & ANDREW | ICELAND

Hit play to watch the short film

I have a passion for travel and a bigger passion for Iceland. There is something about Iceland that I find very hard to explain to others especially if you haven’t visited. The huge landscape and the feeling of isolation just draws me in like a black hole and I long to go back every time one of my trips comes to an end.

I want to be able to reach out to clients who are getting married abroad. For me destination wedding photography gives a true sense of adventure. Venues and locations that I’ve not visited before excite my mind and heighten my creativity. I have upcoming destination weddings in the Italian lakes. Lake Como and Lake Garda and also in the hometown of Romeo and Juliette, Verona.

The moment Laura and Andrew said they wanted to go to Iceland excitement kicked in, having clients who appreciate adventure and the unknown and want to explore our wonderful planet is incredible. I knew the places to visit – The abandoned plane wreck in Vik and its sandy black beaches with amazing basalt column rock structures. Seljalandsfoss waterfall where you can walk behind the waterfall itself, you just have to be brave enough and know your gonna get wet. Then of course the secret locations but one thing is for sure, I will never forget the emotion between Laura & Andrew as they read such special words to each other over a beautiful sunset with seals watching their every move at Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon. I had to pinch myself.

I want to shoot more Iceland weddings, elopements, blessing’s – The black church at Budir is amazing, a couple connection session, or pre-wedding portrait session or even an In-Love session…you name it! I could go on but if I told you all the best places what would we explore!

We all love a good film right! I knew I wanted to make this adventure unique and different, I wanted to shoot video footage, I wanted to produce Destination wedding photography and video. A video that shows consistency in photography and film….How often do you see wedding photographs and wedding videos that don’t convey the same feeling and emotion, not looking consistent in edit and style….many times, and it’s excepted. It’s going to happen, it’s being captured by two different people and the results will never be stylistically connected. Now imagine this,  seeing wedding photography and a wedding film both captured by the same person, both are consistent in style and connect each other visually. It’s a blend of being a good wedding photographer and a good wedding film maker. The result is seamless, unobtrusive and I will soon to be offering this fusion of wedding photography and wedding videography.
