Lake Como is a very beautiful and special place. A destination wedding day is not just one day when your family and friends travel from all around the world, they share this time with you and it becomes a huge family event. It’s a journey of families and friends uniting and celebrating for several days.

Villa Del Balbianello is an exclusive venue and has been featured in many blockbuster movies for its wonderful architecture and stunning lake views. Some of the biggest movies are James Bond Casino Royale and one of the Star Wars trilogy, so let’s just say you may spot a little Star Wars reference during the ceremony. When Agatha & Megied asked me to be their Lake Como wedding photographer I was beyond excited to be at this luxurious wedding venue.

The wedding day started at Villa La Mirabella the preparations began in the the beautiful pistachio coloured suite and then just across the road for the speed boat departure and arrival at Villa Balbianello. Villa Del Balbianello Lake Como elegant wedding photography

As always the boat trip is fantastic fun and is the best way to see Lake Como. Balbianello is perched on an outcrop of woodland jutting out into the lake. Seeing it up close as we arrived was like looking to a new world, a Jurassic world.

I captured some truly beautiful moments between Agatha & Megied as we had the villa to ourselves during the couple portraits just before the wedding guests arrived. The ceremony was taking place under the arches with the sun low over the mountains. Special and touching words were spoken here.

The aperitivo was held outside the orangery, the band played and champagne and Aperol flowed. The orangery was laid with true Italian rustic style, bunches of rosemary, thyme, olive leaves and lemons adorned the tables.

A change of dress for Agatha and the speeches began and just after I captured sunset photos across the lake. Megied and his band played and he sang to his beautiful wife, then the party went wild with dancing long into the night…
